SLOWLY FALLING APART

I went back to the dr today. My leg (the one with the lump in it) kept me awake most of the nite. That darn lump has grown about three times the size it was when I found it. At least the dr didn't laugh at me today. He couldn't believe that the other dr ( or so called dr) didn't give me something besides muscle relaxers. He thinks that I have some kind of infection in my leg. So he gave me some STRONG antibiotics that cost $5.00 per pill! And that is with a drug card. I got to take these for 10 days. If I don't see an improvement I have to go back. Then he said I would need a sonogram and he would probably send me to a surgeon for a biopsy. I hope and pray that it goes away. I sure don't need it to be anything else. They checked my white cell count and said it was fine. So they are pretty sure it is not cancer or anything like that. But they think it is awful big to be a lymph node. We will just have to wait and see. My kid got an I-Pod for Christmas. These things don't only prevent the user from hearing they hurt the hearing of anyone that is around them, too. I hope my daughter gets a good education because she will never make a living as a singer. TRUST ME!

AFTER THE STORM

Nothing is left but a large pile of paper and boxes on the living room floor. A lot of work goes into shopping and picking out the best gifts for it to end like this. All in all it was a good Christmas morning. My kid was up at 6:30. That is a new record for her. She went through several hundred dollars of gifts in about 4 minutes. Nothing new. Then she went with her dad to his mothers. I have a great relationship with my in-laws. Not the ex. I spent 12 years trying to be nice (10 before the divorce). Now I try to ignore him. I found out last year the easiest thing to do is not let him in my house. That way he doesn't get a chance to be rude and obnoxious. Got to go back to work tommorrow. My kid is finally over the flu and I am feeling somewhat better. My leg still bothers me some. I found out that a muscle relaxer gives me a hangover. So I ain't taking them anymore. We still haven't had Christmas with my family yet. Maybe this weekend. I told Brittany it would be like having Christmas twice. If we had known we were going to postpone we could have saved some money on the after Christmas sales. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

NERVOUS NOT PANIC

I had a pretty good scare tonite. About 1 1/2 weeks ago I noticed a lump in my upper thigh. Right next to my groin. It has bothered me since then. It hurts more as I work or walk around each day. Today my leg started going numb, my arm started hurting, then I got a headache. The headache lasted a very short time and then me face started tingling. Weird huh? I wondered what it was that was causing this. The first time it happened in the grocery store. Then it happened a little later when I got home. My kid wanted me to go get checked out so off we went to the emergency room. All I could think of was "Am I having a stroke?" Well we signed in and took a seat. If I was having a stroke I would have died while I waited. Then I get the nurse with an attitude from hell. Anything I said was met with a very sarcastic remark. I seen Britt look at me and I knew what she was thinking. She was waiting on me to go off on this guy. But I behaved. It's Christmas. Seen the Doc. He is mashing on my leg and telling me to lift it and twist it. He says it is tendenitis. How do you get that in your thigh? It ain't like I have been in the sex olympics lately or anything like that. Anyway he doesn't know where all the tingling in my are and head is from. They kept asking me about stress and my home life. NO I DID NOT HAVE A PANIC ATTACK!! I told them that several times. It wasn't panic. It was just plain weird. Why is my body tingling in places it never has before? I was ask questions about my home life or was the grocery store crowded? Yea it is Christmas but no panic attack. Sent me home after a pill and a perscription for some ease medicine. Guess I will live for now. But if any more strange tingling starts up it is off to the next hospital in line in Decatur. We will see if they think just because it is the holidays you have to be having a panic attack if something ain't feeling right.

CHRISTMAS FLU

Well the bug has landed. The flu bug that is. My kid came down sick Wednesday. In a matter of hours she went from being her regular little smart ass self to being a major smart ass. She got pretty sick pretty quick. Her throat swelled up and boy was she ill! Don't forget the fever.
Then we had a 2 hour fight over taking a pill. She has taken pills since she was about 3 with no problem but she was afraid it would make her throat hurt. Needless to say I told her she could either take the pill or I would shove it up her ................ well she took the pill. Now one of my sisters has it pretty bad. Vicki went by her house and she passed out and was choking. Good thing Vic was there. I would hate to think of what might have happened. We may have to postpone Christmas a few days until everyone is better. We have done it before. No big deal. Not to the grown ups anyway. I would rather wait a few days than start our own epidemic. We have a pretty big family. In between in-laws, outlaws, grand kids and the assorted others we drag up there is usually at least 28-30 there. Don't know if we chance it. Maybe it will move on to the next unsuspecting victim. Be careful out there.

1. NO MORE JUNK MAIL!!! This is a waste of good trees.
2. Men who think independent women are not interesting. Just because we can handle things ourselves don't mean we are total bitches!
3. For people to realize that full-figured women are the new perfect woman. Don't they know that the Barbie doll that they are with now will eventually look just like us!

CHRISTMAS CHAOS

We just returned from Christmas shopping. 6 hours of it! My kid is already sacked out on the couch with the dog and cat. Full House is on Nick at Nite (can't reach the remote). I put a pretty good dent in my Christmas list tonite. Ran into some pretty good deals, too. The traffic in Florence was horrendous. We ate at O'Charley's. Not bad but not what I really wanted. I am sick of Wal Mart. The mall was a bust,too. Did you know that at 11:00 at nite K-Mart is practically empty? They were having a pretty good sale. I think I will go to Decatur tomorrow to try to finish up. Can you believe I wore my kid out shopping? She has decided she doesn't want to go tomorrow because I won't go home until I get done. I out shopped an 11 year old girl!! Guess I ain't as old as she thinks. People are rude and pushy out there. But you just have to jump in the trenches and battle it out. My sisters and I have this little thing we do each year we call "Sister Gifts". We started it a few years back. We all try to be a little creative with our gifts. You would be surprised with some of the things we come up with. But one thing we all try to include is a Christmas ornament for each other. Now we have a collection of ornaments that we have given to each other. I have part of my sister gifts but I need to find the little unusual things. I think I will do that tomorrow while I am in town. I have some ideas but I can't reveal them in case my sisters read this. NO PEEKING Y'ALL.

BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSIES

Today is my nephew Chane's birthday. He is my sister Vicki's son. Don't seem like it has been 32 years since he was born. He is a very good looking boy with a very good heart. I remember when he was born. I was 13. Of course he was (and still is) spoiled. What do you expect with the first grandchild in a family. Today is also my bigmomma's birthday. We didn't call her grandmother ever. She was always bigmomma to us. She was my mother's mother who lived in Athens. We got to see her often during our summer visits. But as we all grew up we didn't go as often. But one thing I always remember about today is this is the day my mom and dad met. They met on a blind date and got married 10 days later on Christmas day. They ran off to Iuka, Mississippi and got married. Daddy always said that he knew that nite he wanted to marry her. He even told his mother that the next morning after their first date. They were married almost 50 years. We didn't grow up with all the fighting and fussing alot of people do. My ex-husband ask me one time did I really think my daddy had never been unfaithful. I told him yes. He said that I grew up in a fairy tale. I told him no I grew up the way it was meant to be. Too bad more people don't grow up like that today. I ask Daddy one time what would he do if I met someone and got married 10 days later.. He kinda laughed and said "Whatever you get yourself into you will get yourself out of." Maybe that is why I am still single after 12 years. They don't make them even close like him anymore. Happy Birthday Chane. Oh yea. My sister Donna is a pig killer. I don't know if she even gave the poor thing time to say his last prayer. She seems to be dangerous with household appliances (vacuum cleaner)..who knew that a potbellied pig would have a heart attack over a hoover!! Ya'll check out her confession at Life Droppings.
